City Map Wall Art

City Map Wall Art

City Map wall art puts a whole city on your wall as a map: street grids, minimalist maps, hand-drawn versions and maps with landmark silhouettes, from Amsterdam and Boston to Tokyo and Paris. Some country and state maps sit alongside them. Many cities appear in more than one style, so look for yours under each.

Street Grid Titles For The Pattern Of The Streets

Street grid titles are the maps to look at when the pattern of the streets is what you want on the wall. Buenos Aires Street Grid Map, Paris Street Grid Map and Valencia Street Network Map are examples, and Kuala Lumpur Street Grid Map and Houston Street Grid Map are offered in portrait for a narrow wall. Other titles say Urban Grid or Grid Map, so check each wording.

Minimalist And Monochrome Maps For A Neutral Room

Minimalist and monochrome titles are the place to start for a room of white walls and pale wood. Edinburgh Minimalist City Map and Darwin Minimalist City Map name the look outright, and Milan City Map Monochrome names a single tone. Hang one alone over a plain console and leave the rest of the wall bare.

Hand-Drawn City Maps From Madison To Brisbane

Hand-drawn titles say the style in the name: Hand Drawn Madison City Map, Hand-drawn Milwaukee City Map and Brisbane Hand-drawn City Map. Some cities come in both styles, so if your city first shows up as a grid, look for a drawn version too. Atlanta has Atlanta Hand-drawn City Map alongside Atlanta Street Grid Map, for instance.

Maps With Silhouettes, Icons Or Sketches Of Landmarks

Some titles add drawn landmarks to the map, and the title names the kind. Budapest Map with Landmark Silhouettes and Riga Map with Cathedral Silhouettes use silhouettes, Lisbon Map with Architectural Icons uses icons, and Rome Map with Landmark Sketches uses sketches.

Canal, River And Coastal Titles Name The Water

When a title names water, that water is part of the map. Amsterdam Canal Map and Bruges Canal Map name canals, Florence Arno River Map and Sacramento River Map name a river, and Naples Coastal Map and Lima Coastal City Map name the coast.

Manhattan And New York City Maps, From Skyline To Color-Coded

New York appears here as Manhattan maps and as New York City maps. Manhattan Street Map is named for its streets, Manhattan Map with Skyline pairs the map with a skyline, and Color-coded New York City Map names its color coding in the title. For skylines, bridges and more of the city, see the New York wall art collection.

Hallway, Desk Or Bedroom: Where A City Map Fits

A narrow hallway wall calls for a portrait map, while a desk or a bed calls for a landscape one. Hamburg City Map and Cologne City Map are offered in portrait for the stretch between two doors. For city skylines to hang nearby, see the city skyline wall art collection.

Sizing A City Map To The Furniture Below It

A city map looks balanced when it spans about two thirds to three quarters of the furniture's width. Above a 72 inch sofa, a 48 x 32 inch landscape map covers two thirds of its width. Over a 48 inch desk, a 36 x 24 inch map covers three quarters of its width. A 30 inch console in a narrow hall takes a 20 x 40 inch portrait map, again two thirds of its width. Hang the center 57 to 60 inches from the floor on an open wall, or 6 to 8 inches above furniture.

State And Country Maps Sit Beside The City Maps

Some maps cover a state or a country instead of a city. Indiana State Map, Kansas State Map and Montana State Map name a state, while Austria Topographic Map, Slovenia Political Map and Mexico Relief Map name a country and the kind of map. For more states and countries, see the city and country map art collection.

How Each Piece Is Made

No map exists until you order it, because every one is printed to order. Canvas prints use museum-quality canvas and archival inks over a solid wooden inner frame, so canvas and framed maps arrive ready to hang, while a Poster Print arrives unframed. Shipping is free, delivery takes 8 to 10 business days from the day you order, and you have 30 days from delivery to return it.

Common Questions

What is a city map called?

A city map is also called a street map, a city plan or a street plan, and titles in this collection use all of those words along with aerial map. Some add a style such as minimalist or hand-drawn. One city can appear under several of these words.

Does anyone still sell paper maps?

Yes, the Poster Print finish puts a city map on paper, and it usually has the lowest starting price of the finishes offered. The same maps are also sold on canvas and in frames. Titles such as Hong Kong Aerial Map Wall Art and Lyon Aerial City Map Wall Art show the paper finish is not limited to street grids.

Is there vintage city map wall art?

Vintage London City Map carries that word in its title, while other city maps here name styles such as minimalist, hand-drawn, street grid or landmark silhouettes. For antique and vintage nautical world maps, see the antique map and clock art collection.

Is there custom city map wall art?

The listings here are maps of named places, each titled with its city and style, so the title is the first thing to check against the place you have in mind. Open the product page of the map you like to confirm what it shows before you order. If your city is not listed, a state or country map may be the closest match.

Where can I find city maps prints?

City maps prints are listed by place name, so scan this collection for yours, such as Sheffield, Seoul or Vienna. Most titles start with the city, though a few begin with a style word such as Minimalist or Hand Drawn. If you want a different look for the same city, check whether it also appears as a grid, a drawn map or a map with silhouettes.
