Senegal Wall Art

Senegal Wall Art

Senegal wall art here centers on Lake Retba, also called Lac Rose, near Dakar: aerial views, wooden boats, salt mounds and shoreline lines. The collection also holds the Senegalese flag and a map of Senegal with its flag, so you can choose a place picture or a national piece.

Lake Retba Aerial Views From Above

Lake Retba Aerial View Wall Art and Lake Retba Shoreline Aerial Wall Art look down on the lake rather than across it, which turns water and shore into shapes and lines. The aerial view comes in panoramic as well as landscape, so it covers a long wall. Over a 66 inch media console, a 48 x 16 inch panoramic lands at about 73% of the width.

Wooden Boats On Lake Retba

Several titles put boats in the picture: Wooden Boats on Lake Retba Wall Art, Lac Rose Boats Aerial View Wall Art and Lake Retba Aerial with Boat Wall Art. A boat is a small, clear subject set against a large field, which helps a wall that has little else on it. Choose the wooden boats for a closer look and the aerial titles for the view from above.

Salt Mounds And Salt Piles At The Lake

Lac Rose Boats and Salt Mounds Wall Art and Salt Piles at Lake Retba Wall Art bring the salt itself into the frame. They are the pieces to pick if the salt matters more to you than the water. Over a 52 inch console table, a 36 x 24 inch landscape covers about 69% of the width.

Lake Retba Or Lac Rose: One Lake, Two Names

Lake Retba and Lac Rose are two names for the same lake, and the titles here use both. Lac Rose is French for pink lake. If you search for either name, you find the same group of pictures, so choose by what each title says it shows: boats, mounds, piles, shoreline or an aerial view.

Choosing Senegal Wall Art For A Living Room

For a living room, an aerial picture is a good place to start because it works as a large shape above a sofa. For a hallway or an office, a boat or a pile of salt gives you a focal point at a smaller scale. Keep the other walls plain and let one Lake Retba piece carry the room.

Pairing Two Lake Retba Pieces

Two pieces from the same lake hang well as a pair when they differ in viewpoint, for instance one aerial and one boat picture. Hang both at the same height, with the center of each 57 to 60 inches from the floor, and match the shapes so the edges line up.

Senegal Among African Wall Art

For places across the continent, browse the Africa wall art collection, which also draws on Lake Retba. To add another country's emblem to your wall, see the country flag wall art collection, and for maps of other countries and cities, the city and country map art collection.

Lake Pictures From Other Countries

If you like lakes as a subject, the lake wall art collection holds lakes from many countries. The Senegal pieces are the ones to choose when you want the lake to carry the name of a single place.

How Each Piece Is Made

Each Senegal piece is printed to order after you order it. Canvas prints use museum-quality canvas and archival inks stretched over a solid wooden inner frame, and canvas and framed pieces arrive ready to hang. Shipping is free, delivery takes 8 to 10 days from the day you order, and you have 30 days from delivery to return a piece.

Common Questions

What is the symbol of Senegal?

The Senegalese flag is the national emblem pictured in this collection. Flag of Senegal Wall Art comes in landscape, panoramic and square shapes. A flag piece is a plain, graphic choice for a study or a hallway, and the panoramic shape suits a long console or the space above a bed.

What is a famous landmark in Senegal?

Lake Retba, also called Lac Rose, near Dakar is the lake this collection is built around. One piece, Lac Rose Salt Flats Senegal Wall Art, names both the lake and the country in its title. It comes in landscape and panoramic shapes, so you can pick a wall that suits a long view.

Is there a map of Senegal wall art?

Yes. Senegal Map with Flag Wall Art draws the country as a map and sets its flag beside it. It is a landscape piece, which suits an office, a study or a hallway where you want the country named. For maps of other places, use the map collection linked above.

What are some examples of art from Senegal?

Here the art is pictures of a place and of national symbols: lake views from the air and from the shore, boats, salt, a flag and a map. These are not traditional crafts or paintings. If you want traditional work, treat this collection as a set of place pictures and look elsewhere for crafts.

Is there large Senegal wall art for a big wall?

Yes. The landscape pieces go up to 60 x 40 inches, the square ones to 48 x 48 and the panoramic ones to 60 x 20. Over an 88 inch sofa, a 60 x 40 inch landscape lands at about 68% of the width. Measure the furniture first, then choose a size that covers about two thirds to three quarters of it.
