Travel Wall Art

Travel Wall Art

Travel wall art is any picture of a place you want to visit, remember or plan around. This collection holds famous landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, Machu Picchu and the Blue Mosque, city, country and world maps, and airplanes, cruise ships, trains and road scenes, all printed to order for your walls.

Landmark Pieces Put A Named Destination On The Wall

If you already know the place, start with a landmark. Eiffel Tower at Sunset, Machu Picchu in the Andes, Blue Mosque Istanbul and Colosseum in Rome each name their destination in the title, so you can match a piece to a trip you took or one still on the list. Giza Pyramids at Sunset and The Monastery at Petra add Egypt and Jordan. For more Parisian scenes, browse Paris wall art, and for Peruvian ones, Peru wall art.

Sunrise And Sunset Titles Give A Time Of Day To Choose

Many titles here state when the scene happens, so you can pick the hour you want on the wall. Tower Bridge at Sunset, Stonehenge at Sunset and Airplane Landing at Sunset are named for evening, while Private Jet Sunrise and Jet Taking Off at Dawn are named for the start of a day.

Islands And Harbor Views For A Holiday Wall

If you plan a beach trip, look at the water pieces. Bora Bora Overwater Bungalows, Zlatni Rat Beach Aerial Coast and Hvar Harbor Aerial View sit beside Oia Santorini Blue Domes. More Santorini and Greek coast pieces are in Greece wall art.

A Travel Map Marks Where You Have Been Or Plan To Go

Antique Nautical World Map and Minimalist Black World Map cover the globe, Retro Europe Map suits a trip planned around one continent, and World Monuments Map pairs well with a wall of landmark pieces. City maps such as Rome City Map and Prague City Map come in a portrait shape for a narrow stretch of wall. The full range of street grids and country outlines is in city and country map art.

Airplane Pieces Come In Landscape, Panoramic And Square

Airplane Above Clouds comes in landscape, panoramic and square. Commercial Jet Above Clouds and Paper Airplane in Flight sit beside it, and Private Jet Sunrise comes in a panoramic shape for a long, low wall. For more aircraft, see airplane and jet wall art.

Cruise Ships And Trains For A Slower Way To Travel

Not every journey is a flight. Cruise Ship in Open Sea and Misty Docked Cruise Ship go with a bedroom or a den, while Gornergrat Railway at Zermatt and Durango Steam Locomotive No. 480 bring rail travel to a study or a hallway, and a train in the Swiss Alps joins them. More ships are under ship and harbor wall art.

Road Scenes For A Road Trip Wall

Aerial Winding Road, Pamir Mountain Road, Mojave Desert Route 66 and Winding Forest Road each follow one road, and Orange Vintage Car Road Trip Getaway adds the car. Hang one over a desk or an entryway console.

Collages And Montages Cover Several Landmarks At Once

When a single destination feels too narrow, Global Landmarks Collage and World Monuments Montage bring several landmarks into one piece. Add one or two single-destination pieces beside them.

Which Rooms Take Travel Wall Art

Above a living room sofa, a landmark such as Colosseum in Rome gives the wall one clear subject. In a bedroom, a cruise ship or a sunrise jet piece sits well over the dresser or bed. A hallway or study takes a rail or road scene, and a world map suits an office wall where you plan trips. Pick the room first, then choose the destination you want to see there.

Match The Size To The Furniture Below

Aim for about two thirds to three quarters of the width of the furniture under the piece. Above a 72 inch dresser, a 48 x 32 print covers about 67 percent of its width. Over a 78 inch sofa, a 54 x 36 print covers about 69 percent. A bed 70 inches across takes a 48 x 16 print, about 69 percent. Hang the center 57 to 60 inches from the floor on an open wall, or 6 to 8 inches above furniture.

Common Questions

How Do You Create A Travel Wall?

Start with the wall you have, then choose pieces to match it. Pick one theme, such as bridges, island beaches or road scenes, and keep the centers of the pieces on one line. Lay everything on the floor first, so you can change the order before you mark a single nail hole. A second theme can go on a different wall.

Where Can I Buy Affordable Travel Posters?

Poster Print arrives unframed and usually has the lowest starting price, so it is the place to start if you want an affordable travel poster. A poster does not arrive ready to hang. Shipping is free, delivery takes 8 to 10 business days from the day you order, and standard pieces can be returned within 30 days of delivery.

Are Travel Posters Still Relevant Today?

Yes, a travel poster still works as wall art when it shows a place you care about. Pick the subject first, such as a city you visited, a map of the whole world or a jet at dawn, then use the two thirds rule on this page to choose a size. Poster Print usually has the lowest starting price, which makes it an easy way to try a subject before you go larger.

What Is Vintage Travel Wall Art?

Titles that say vintage or retro mark pieces styled that way: Retro Eiffel Tower Illustration, Retro Airplane at Sunset Illustration, Vintage Desert Road USA and Vintage Nautical World Map. Type vintage or retro into the store search box to find more of them.

What Are Some Travel Photo Wall Ideas?

Group three to five pieces under one theme, such as famous bridges, island beaches or road scenes, in a similar size. Hang them in a row above a console or in a grid on an open wall. Keeping one theme per group makes the wall easy to follow, and you can start a second group on another wall.
